Fra fame-project.info- FAME (Flexible and Mobile Economic Processing Technologies) is a transnational research project. It’s aim is to increase the competitiveness of the mining of European mineral resources and to stimulate more private engagement and investment and thus business development with the potential to maintain and create high quality jobs within the EU 28. - The FAME project focuses on addressing a number of economic and environmental challenges to improve processing technologies and to recover valuable materials from low grade and / or complex feedstock’s ore by increasing the range of yields of recovered raw materials with lower energy consumption and minimising mine waste. In turn this will reduce the environmental fingerprint whilst increasing the utilisation of residues. - FAME addresses the objectives of the Societal Challenges identified for the Horizon 2020

Fra fame-project.info 15. juli 2015FAME on Fact Finding Mission in Finland- The first Focus Group Meeting will take place in Kaustinen, Western Finland, between 21st to 23rd September 2015. This site is where FAME Partner Keliber Oy is developing a Lithium mine using the local spodumene pegmatites. In preparation for this event the FAME management team, along with project partners Luleå Technical University and GTK (from Scandinavia) carried out a fact finding mission (27th to 29th May 2015). The mission saw at first-hand how mining of lithium ore could fit as part of European eco-industry for batteries and confirmed that Keliber’s Länttä Project is amongst the most advanced lithium mining projects in Europe. Furthermore, it demonstrates how the project could benefit from FAME Research and Innovation and know how.
