Fra indmin.com 19. januar 2016Better batteries to drive Chinese EV demand, says Barclays- Developments in battery technology are expected to drive up Chinese electric vehicle (EV) demand, according to UK investment bank, Barclays. - Chinese drivers expect EVs to have a driving range of 250km and shorter charging times than are currently required to fully power-up cars. Fortunately, these demands match the specifications of second generation batteries, set to roll off production lines in the next couple of years. - "As manufacturers continue to squeeze improvements out of the current generation batteries, the second generation battery technology is likely to kick in around 2017-18, which promises much-improved driving range," Barclays analyst, Chi Zhang, said. - Figures are debated, but Chinese EV sales may have already overtaken those in the US, and China’s government has announced ambitious goals for future sector expansion to 2020. - "The government has set a target to lift EV sales from 75,000 in 2014 to around 1.5m units (5% market share) by 2020, with cumulative sales reaching 5m," Barclays said.

Fra EV-Volumes.com, Aug. 2016: Global Plug-in Vehicle Sales for 2016 H1" Worldwide plug-in vehicle sales including June were 312 000, 49 % higher than for the same period in 2015. These include all global BEV and PHEV passenger cars sales and light commercial vehicle in Europe. The total vehicle market is up by 5 % in the first half year to 35 million cars and 12 million trucks. Plug-in vehicle sales grow 10 times faster than the overall market, but still capture a world market share of below 1 %." Med samme vekstrate ut året vil totalt salg for 2016 bli ca. 750 000 solgte biler. Sammenlignet med antall solgte biler i 2015, som var 540 000 stk, vil den årlige veksten bli på ca 38%. Fra rapporten " Global EV Outlook 2016": " The year 2015 saw the global threshold of 1 million electric cars on the road exceeded, closing at 1.26 million. This is a symbolic achievement highlighting significant efforts deployed jointly by governments and industry over the past ten years. In 2014, only about half of today’s electric car stock existed. In 2005, electric cars were still measured in hundreds."
